The Challenge

Restoration General Contractors completed a storm damage restoration project in Lakeway, Texas after a severe hail event produced approximately 2-inch hail at the property. Although the building’s standing seam metal roof system was relatively new, the storm caused visible impact damage across the roof panels, gutters, and related exterior metal components. The property’s Trane HVAC units were also affected, with hail impacts compromising the exterior condenser fins and system components.

This project is a strong example of why even newer commercial roof systems require a detailed post-storm inspection. Age alone does not determine whether a roof has sustained functional damage. Large hail can dent metal panels, damage protective finishes, weaken drainage components, and affect rooftop mechanical equipment in a way that may not be obvious from the ground.

Our team documented the storm-related damage, inspected the roof and gutter systems, evaluated the HVAC impacts, and helped guide the property owner through the insurance restoration process. The result was a properly supported claim and a restoration plan that addressed the full building envelope, not just the visible roof surface.

Project Location: Lakeway, Texas
Damage Type: 2-inch hail impact
Affected Components: Standing seam metal roof, gutters, downspouts, and Trane HVAC units
Key Takeaway: Newer roofs are not immune to severe hail damage, especially when large hail impacts metal roofing and rooftop mechanical systems.

At Lupine Lane, we inspire a lifelong love of learning, creativity and meaningful connection.
