What We Do
RGC Restoration General Contractors is a premiere storm damage restoration company operating nationwide. We handle large-loss commercial roofing, storm damage claims, TPO retrofits, and full commercial re-roofing, for property owners, facility managers, and institutions who need it done right the first time.
Our Story
RGC was built on a simple premise: the commercial roofing industry was full of contractors who knew how to install roofs but didn't know how to fight for their clients inside the insurance process. We knew both.
Since 2008, we've handled tens of millions of dollars in large-loss commercial storm damage claims for clients ranging from Fortune 500 retailers to government education centers to national hospitality brands. We've served as expert roofing witnesses in litigation. We've been retained as large-loss consultants by Crawford & Company, the world's largest and oldest insurance adjusting firm, to assess and validate complex commercial claims. That experience sits inside RGC every time we walk a roof.

Michael Johnson
CEO
Michael Johnson is the founder and CEO of Restoration GC, a commercial general contracting company specializing in complex storm-damage restoration, large-loss insurance projects, and commercial roofing systems.
Michael built Restoration GC around a simple philosophy: the best time to build the case for a property is before there is a dispute. His team combines forensic weather analysis, detailed roof inspections, thermal imaging, engineering, laboratory testing, estimating, and construction expertise to give property owners a complete understanding of storm-related damage and the options available to restore their buildings.
Restoration GC works primarily with commercial property owners, investors, religious organizations, schools, retail portfolios, warehouses, and industrial facilities affected by hail, wind, and severe weather. The company has developed particular expertise in converting aging or damaged roofing systems into modern TPO, standing-seam metal, and other high-performance assemblies designed to reduce maintenance, improve energy efficiency, and provide long-term manufacturer-backed protection.
Rather than approaching insurance restoration as simply replacing what was there before, Michael focuses on finding opportunities to leave a property better than it was before the loss—whether through improved roofing systems, greater energy efficiency, updated building components, or warranties that significantly reduce an owner's long-term exposure to leaks and repair costs.
Based in Austin, Texas, Michael is leading Restoration GC's expansion into storm-affected commercial markets across the United States while maintaining a hands-on approach to complex projects and long-term client relationships.

Mendel Johnson is an entrepreneur, investor, and business owner with a passion for building companies and creating long-term value. As the co-founder of a Texas-based roofing and restoration company, he specializes in commercial and residential roofing, storm damage restoration, insurance claim support, and construction management. In addition to his work in the construction industry, Mendel owns two other businesses and is actively involved in developing new opportunities across multiple industries. Known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to excellence, he has worked with property owners, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community institutions throughout the country. His mission is to deliver exceptional results, build lasting relationships, and create businesses that make a positive impact.
